A sequential PE program is provided by a specialist teacher.  Students attending Poynter benefit from being exposed to a wide and varied range of sports and activities including Interschool sports and Lightning Carnivals during the school year.

Our school has been successful in applying for a number of grants from Sporting Schools which is an Australian Government initiative designed to help schools to increase children’s participation in sport, and to connect them with community sporting opportunities. The funds received from these grants are used to enhance our PE program.

In-Term Swimming Lessons    

Swimming lessons are arranged for all students and are conducted by fully qualified swimming instructors. Lessons for Year 6 are held at Sorrento Beach in first term with Pre-Primary to Year 5 at Craigie Leisure Centre. The Department of Education offers VACSWIM in the holidays.
