Libraries store the energy that fuels the imagination. At Poynter Primary School we have a well-resourced Library, with a school library officer who is employed for three days per week and enjoys helping both students and staff with their book selections. All year levels participate in the library borrowing system and every class is timetabled to enjoy the library once a week.
The library officer runs a very successful Book Fair once a year, which supports the school’s ability to extend its reading resources.
The P&C also supports the library through targeted fundraising and the coordination of the Scholastic’s purchasing service.
The library has a designated Literacy Pro selection that allows students to borrow texts at their individual comprehension levels as part of their Literary Program.
