Poynter Primary School offers an outstanding Visual Arts program that fosters student creativity and provides learners with the opportunity to build on their skills and knowledge of art making and appreciation.
All young artists explore The Elements of Art, such as colour, texture, form and become familiar with the Principles of Design. These elements and principles are taught in theory and practice, through the studio and media arts.
Students exhibit their art, both within the school grounds and the wider community. Whether engaging in large-scale annual events or having their work included in prestigious art awards, Poynter Primary’s young people celebrate their creativity and gain first-hand knowledge of the relationship between the artist and the audience, through art installations, competitions and public art events.
