P & C
At Poynter Primary School we have a very active and successful Parents and Citizens Association. This was acknowledged in February 2015 when we were awarded the Active Citizenship Award for the City of Joondalup.

New in 2017: Poynter Primary School P&C Facebook page
Our P&C gives parents the opportunity to learn about the school policies and programs, it helps to stimulate community interest and participation in our children’s education and it encourages parents to share information and views. New members are most welcome to attend meetings, which are held twice a term, at 7pm on a Tuesday evening. The school community is informed of meeting dates via newsletters and emails. Minutes of the meetings are available to view on the school App.
Monies raised throughout the year, from numerous fundraising events and the Poynter Farmers’ Market, are used to purchase valuable resources for our students and to continually improve the school’s facilities. To date, in 2015, Poynter Primary School’s P&C have purchased iPads for the students, helped to renovate the schools toilets and organised a new kitchen/uniform shop. We have also purchased trees and plants for the Early Learning area and commissioned educational artwork for the children to use. The P&C also contributes a substantial amount of funds to support online programs and physical activity programs.
Fundraising for charities is also something the Poynter P&C Association and the school community is heavily involved in. We have been able to contribute to charities such as End Women’s Cancer, Wanslea, The St Vincent de Paul Society, Worlds Greatest Shave, Containers for Timor, Save the children Foundation and RSPCA, to name a few.
As the school does not have a canteen the P&C offer school lunches twice a term. The students are able to order lunches (Subway or Sushi) with the profits going to the P & C.
The Poynter Primary School P & C was using Our Online Canteen forordering School Lunches and organising fundraising events. Currently a new lunch supplier is being considered.
School banking, in conjunction with the Commonwealth Bank, is available each Thursday for all students. Information packs can be obtained from the volunteers on banking day.
As with any school community a lot of necessary work is accomplished with the help of valuable volunteers. Our hard working parents/carers assisted with: the running of the Uniform Shop, organising special projects like the School Disco and Movie nights, coordinating lunch orders, organising fundraising projects and many more.
